Be a Volunteer ... Make a Difference!

Thanks for your interest in volunteering to help with the Give n' Gobble. We would love to have you help our team!

All volunteers will receive a FREE t-shirt...and lots of "warm fuzzies" :)
This fun & heart-warming run/walk & community food drive on Thanksgiving morning benefits the Helping Hands food bank.

Thanks to volunteers like you, each year we donate thousands of dollars and a truckload of food to the local food bank!  In addition, the money raised at the Give n' Gobble, funds the Backpack Meals for Kids Program, for children who do not have access to meals at home over the weekend. So far they have provided over 50,000 nutritious meals. Currently they pack over 100 backpacks a week for local elementary school children. It also provides funding for the Lunch & Learning Summer Program, in partnership with the Sherwood Library.

"For many kids on the schools' free or reduced meal program, the meals they receive in school is possibly the only meals they get. Making weekends unbearable. To date we have prepared tens of thousands of nutritious meals for kids in our community!"  says Gerry Edy, Helping Hands Co-Director.

Our mission is to help make sure no child goes to bed hungry!  We would love to have your help !

You will be able to pick-up your free volunteer t-shirt as our THANK YOU for helping make this event a huge success and a fun holiday tradition!   We will provide detailed information about the area where you will be helping for the Give n' Gobble, the time you need to arrive, and tips to help make it a fun, safe day for everyone.

Important: course volunteers will also receive their safety vests and the map for their spot on the course - on Thanksgiving you can go directly to your post on the course so it is especially important that you stop by on Sunday.  Feel free to make your spot on the course FUN, FUN, FUN - music, signs and of course your Civil War gear.
